Xiriton is a very light concrete with CO2 storage in the Miscanthus fibers and a combination with olivine. This new and sustainable building material is similar to low strength concrete. It has been enriched with olivine, a mineral with the ability to absorb CO2 from the environment.
In addition, Xiriton contains Miscanthus. Miscanthus withdraws during the the growth CO2 from the atmosphere and converts it through photosynthesis into oxygen and carbon. The carbon is than contained in the organic material. Usage: for example in a bicycle path use Xiriton instead of concrete and achieve a reduction of 230 to 360 tonnes CO2 per kilometer.
